Event Overview

As we embark on a new EU policy cycle introducing regulation for the welfare and traceability of dogs and cats, this event serves as a collaborative platform uniting stakeholders from the EU, candidate, and potential candidate countries. We will delve into the critical role of responsible pet ownership and the implications, roles, and responsibilities under the new regulation concerning cat and dog welfare.

 

Event Objectives

  1. EU Commission Insights:

Gain a comprehensive understanding of the upcoming regulation on the welfare of dogs and cats, including its effects on stakeholders and obligations for pet owners and professionals.

  1. Stakeholder Engagement:

Discuss the responsibilities of all stakeholders in accordance with the new regulation, emphasizing the importance of responsible ownership practices.

  1. Enhancing Enforcement Mechanisms:

Strengthen the frameworks for enforcing regulation on the welfare of cats and dogs and their traceability, addressing challenges in implementation.

  1. Promoting International Dialogue:

Facilitate discussions between EU and candidate countries to exchange best practices and enhance collaboration on pet welfare initiatives.
