Our achievement to date

In 2016, we committed to launch 16 new products before the end of 2017 which focused on improving the health and wellbeing of pets. We also promised to share our research by publishing 4 articles a year in scientific journals.

In fact, we launched 16 new products during this period and published 17 articles in scientific journals.

Some of these new products include Purina® DENTALIFE® to fight oral health problems that plague four in five dogs and Purina®ONE® Bifensis, a nutritional formula built around beneficial bacteria proven to support a cat's natural defences and antibody production. Each of these products are supported by our nutritionists and vets; scientists dedicated to innovation and delivering high quality nutrition.

They start by imagining a world where pets thrive longer and even the most challenging health issues can be effectively managed through nutrition. Driven by this vision and unwavering passion for pets, we have renewed our commitment to deliver by 2020 14 new products dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of pets.

In 2018, we launched 7 new products.

A healthy brain is as vital as a healthy body

Brain function changes can negatively impact all aspects of a dog’s life and prove difficult for pet owners to manage. Resulting from collaboration between Purina scientists and veterinary neurologists at the Royal Veterinary College in London, PURINA® PRO PLAN® Neurocare NC™ is a breakthrough approach into the effect of nutrition on canine brain health.

Engaging and sharing nutritional expertise with vets

Veterinarians are key influencers for pet owners, often providing the initial, most trusted advice they receive. So Purina engages with the vet community in diverse ways, supporting sponsored lectures, poster presentations, research awards and much more. We believe science is more powerful when shared and this is why we have created the Purina Institute.
